Induction Day (day 12)

Alright people, it's James posting for Sasha (she is a little constrained due to a few probes and hoses, and sticking in her). At about 2100 the staff began inducing labor. She is hooked up to oxytocin (pitocin), saline, and magnesium sulfate (to prevent preeclamptic seizures). It took a few tries to get the IV in, but she's a trooper and handled it without any tears this time. What a tough girl... I'm sure our little one will be just as tough. They had to manually break her water, but the little crochet looking tool wasn't used. Instead an internal heartbeat monitor probe looking thing is hooked up inside of the sack, which is more accurate, but instead of a gush there is a little trickle. Sasha describes it like she feels there is a constant gush.

It may take a few hours before she gets ready for pushing, so we will patiently sit here and wait. Maybe she will hold out long enough for Mrs. Deb and Chris to get here. We estimate their arrival to be around 7 or 8 am. Our doctor's name is also Sasha (so was our dietary lady's), so there is a triple threat of Sasha's in this hospital. I only thought I had enough in me to handle one, turns out I'm a trooper too. She is still adamant about not having an epidural, but if any woman can give birth without it, my beautiful wife can!

As for me, I'm so jacked up about being a daddy again! I can't wait for this little girl to get here. As many of you know, I've wanted another little girl since Maci. I know you all have been patiently waiting for updates, and this blog, but hang in there. If anything develops, I'll send out a mass text to everyone who has been following us. Till then, get some sleep, and we'll do our part here.
